Our design for the Saudi Pavilion in Expo 2025 Osaka presents the Kingdom as a treasure box — a place where prized jewels of culture, tradition, and innovation are revealed within a shimmering kinetic façade.
From day to night, the building transforms: its geometry shifting from solid to reflective, and finally glowing with vibrant patterns inspired by both Saudi and Japanese artistry.
Inside, the visitor’s journey unfolds in a sequence of experiences. Discovery introduces the landscapes and heritage of Saudi Arabia through calligraphy, holographic stories, and interactive AI encounters. Atlas connects guests to the Kingdom’s provinces with a vast digital map, while Skyship carries them on an immersive flight through Saudi Arabia’s bold Vision 2030 projects — from the futuristic marvels of NEOM to the historic heart of Diriyah and the beauty of the Red Sea. The visit concludes at the Souk, a contemporary interpretation of Saudi Arabia’s marketplace, filled with design, craft, and scent. On the rooftop, the Flavors restaurant invites visitors to share Saudi cuisine in settings that bridge Saudi and Japanese dining traditions.
As night falls, the Pavilion itself becomes a stage. The retractable façade opens to host live performances, transforming the building into one of the Expo’s most captivating evening destinations.
Designed as a modular and sustainable structure, the Pavilion embodies the Kingdom’s commitment to a new way of life — rooted in heritage, powered by innovation, and shared with the world.
