The Centro Goya in Zaragoza is conceived as an immersive journey into the life and vision of Francisco de Goya, one of Spain’s most influential artists. Rooted in the city of his youth, the museum reveals both Goya’s gaze on the world and the depths of his inner imagination.
The permanent exhibition unfolds across three thematic floors. Corazón Zaragoza traces his formative years, influences, and rise to maturity, presenting his teachers, early works, and the turning point of his independent artistic spirit.
La Mirada Crítica immerses visitors in a dramatic audiovisual environment, juxtaposing the luminous portraits of high society with the darker visions of his engravings, where reason, hope, and disillusion intertwine. Finally, Goya en el Mundo highlights his enduring legacy, showing how his spirit inspired artists of the 20th and 21st centuries — from Picasso to Bacon and beyond.
Through original works, digital interactives, and poetic fragments of the artist’s own words, the museum invites each visitor to confront Goya’s duality: the painter of power and elegance, and the restless visionary who questioned his world.
